Siemens Bus operator unit RMZ792 Series B CE1P3113en
Building Technologies 10 Faults 07.07.2011
10 Faults
The bus operator unit only handles faults for devices listed in the device list.
After startup, it may take up to 3 minutes until the fault status information from the
devices is updated, depending on the size of the device list.
For network topologies with line couplers, make sure the line couplers can route fault
status information (LTE broadcast) correctly to the bus operator unit for filter "Normal"
or "Route all".
Install the bus operator unit in the related line if only line faults are to be received.
Install the bus operator unit in the backbone, if faults from the entire network are
to be received.
10.1 Fault display
The bus operator unit displays the fault status messages sent by the bus devices in
different menus. From the bus operator unit, faults can be acknowledged and reset,
if allowed by the corresponding device.
The fault indication LED on the fault button indicates the presence of faults by either
flashing or permanent light:
LED status Description
LED off No pending faults.
LED flashes Unacknowledged fault.
LED lit Pending fault or fault not yet acknowledged.
The LED status (flashing/lit permanently) may differ from bus operator unit to bus
device if a fault relay is configured on the device.
