6.3.1 "Create list" submenu
• When the bus operator unit is newly connected to the plant.
• When the bus operator unit is connected temporarily to the plant as a service device.

The network is searched for operable devices as per the set parameters. An existing
device list is listed in advance. Device searches are possible only within the selected
area.
The settings for Area and Line restrict the search for bus devices
to the desired portion of the network. This also reduces the search time.
Setting
* for line means that all lines of the desired area are searched for devices. The
search in this case lasts ca. 15 minutes and cannot be interrupted.
Operating line Start search starts the device search.
The number of devices found is displayed by the value Number of devices current.
When creating a device list, any existing devices, device names, and Favorites
pages are deleted!
• The device list can include max. 150 devices. If a network has more than 150 bus
devices, the search is stopped after 150 devices. Menu List information displays List
error with List complete.
• In plants featuring several bus operator units, only one device can carry out a search
at any given time.
• The device search across all lines (Line =
*) is possible only within the bus operator
unit's own area.
• The settings for Area and Line must not be changed during a device search.
• If power is interrupted during a device search or if the bus operator unit is unplugged
during the device search, the device list is declared List invalid.
• All commands are ignored during a device search.
• The local names of the devices are added to the list when creating the device list.
Subsequent, local changes to a name are on the device are not updated
automatically in the device list.
