3 Device operation
The bus operator unit provides access to data points of the user and service levels for
KNX network devices.
Access to the data points of the password level is possible only using local operator
units RMZ790 and RMZ791. The bus operator unit does not allow for configuring and
commissioning bus devices.
3.1 Device list navigation
The device list is generated during commissioning (list of all bus devices). Data points,
with the exception of Favorites pages, are always accessed via the device list; see
Section 3.2.
Select the des
ired device from the device list to open the device's menu tree. The menu
tree and navigation are the same as for local operation using RMZ790 or RMZ791.
The following information is displayed when you press the INFO button:
• Device names and, if set accordingly, device address.
• Current position in the menu tree (path).
• Long text for the selected data point.
The information is displayed as long as the button is pressed.
3.2 Fast access using Favorites pages
The Favorites pages allow for customized user interfaces for daily operation. Favorites
pages allow you to combine data points of any devices from the device list. The data
points are copied from their position in the menu tree of the corresponding device to the
desired Favorites page. This makes navigation more efficient.
The symbol
at the upper right corner identifies Favorites pages. This allows you to
quickly differentiate between Favorites pages and a device's menu tree.
