Application
The RDS120/RDS120.B is designed to control Heat Pump or Conventional HVAC heating
and cooling applications. It can control up to three stages of heating and two stages of
cooling in conventional systems and up to two compressors and two stages of auxiliary heat
in heat pump systems. Using its fan, the RDS120/RDS120.B can also (de)humidify a space.
Note: The RDS120/RDS120.B is a room thermostat, and as such, there are limitations to
what it can control. Caution should be used when considering the RDS120/RDS120.B for
very large spaces that fit hundreds of people. Spaces like these will use multiple primary
equipment pieces (e.g. multiple roof top units), which require a coordinated control.
Especially humidity control of such a space will require a sophisticated application, covering
for example temperature control of the supply air, modulated fan speed, and considering
outside air temperature and humidity. The RDS120/RDS120.B does none of this, offering a
simple (de)humidification control logic, based on humidity set point and fixed fan speed only.
Mechanical Design
The room thermostat consists of the following parts:
● Front housing with touch screen and sensors
● Back housing with terminals and relays
● Mounting hardware for installation on 2’’×4’’ electrical box or directly on drywall

Shows if the system is working in an energy-optimized mode. If the leaf is red, some
predefined settings have been changed. One touch to the leaf returns settings to
configured settings and reverts leaf color to green.
