To whom it may concern:
BACnet International and Siemens have signed a license agreement allowing interim display of
the BTL Mark on the PXC4.E16, PXC4.M16 and the PXC5.E00 while the products complete the BTL
Testing and Certification process. This interim use is permitted only because the global COVID-19
pandemic resulted in temporary closures of BTL testing facilities and unforeseeable delays in
completing the BTL testing. These products are already in testing and the interim display of the
BTL Mark requires Siemens to comply with all the terms of the license agreement, including:
1. Siemens must complete the testing and certification process for these products
within six months;
2. Until these products are certified, Siemens must notify all customers of these
products that they are not BTL Certified;
3. Siemens must provide updates for all interim products with certified software when
it is available; and
4. Until these products are certified, Siemens must not promote these products as BTL
tested, BTL Listed or BTL Certified.
We are in an unusual situation with unique challenges that require special measures. The license
allowing interim use of the BTL Mark is one of those special measures and is limited to this
situation.
