Earth Grounding of System Neutral
System Neutral (⊥) must be continuous throughout the
TX-I/O bus.
● System Neutral is required to be earth-grounded at a
single point only.
● Connect 24 Vdc Power Supply common or Diode
Decoupling Module common to the building-approved
earth ground at the terminal block.
Energy Management Applications
Open Energy Management devices must be mounted in
one or more NEMA Type 1 or better enclosures for both
primary and secondary panels.
Required Tools and Materials
● Wire stripper/side cutter
● Small 9/64-inch flat-blade screwdriver
● Digital multimeter (DMM)
● Phillips #2 (3.5mm) screwdrive
Expected Installation Time
20 minutes
Prerequisites
CAUTION
No power wiring is connected to
the PXC Modular or other TX-I/O
components at this time.
● General Installation Requirements are met
– Earth Grounding of System Neutral
– Energy Management Applications
● Mounting in NEMA Type 1 enclosures (primary and
secondary panels):
– Enclosure(s) installed including DIN rail
– The power source(s) installed, as needed
– The power sources(s) OFF
● Panel Power requirements are met
– Power cable of correct gauge is available
● All necessary power and communication wiring pulled
and terminated per the layout drawing
– On the removable plugs provided with the devices
● For TX-I/O Modules:
– Point wiring is terminated on the TX-I/O Terminal
Base
– TX-I/O Modules are either removed from or
parked in the terminal bases
– TX-I/O Address Keys are available for each
Module
– TX-I/O Module labels have been printed from
System Profile
See the APOGEE
Wiring Guidelines for Field Panels and
Equipment Controllers
(125-3002) for detailed information
TX-I/O Module point wiring diagrams.
Panel Power Requirements
One or more of following power sources are pulled to
each primary and each optional secondary panel:
● Required VIN A for Power Supply Unit PSU-A.
– 1 or 3 phase AC or DC terminated on PSU-A.
– Observe Input Voltage Rating and Fusing.
– 24 Vdc Current rated 10A for small panels.
– 24 Vdc Current rated 20A for large panels.
● Optional Redundant VIN B for PSU-B.
– 1 or 3 phase AC or DC terminated PSU-B.
– Observe Input Voltage Rating and Fusing.
– PSU-B must have same Output Voltage and
Current Rating as PSU-A within a panel.
– Terminate PSU-A and PSU-B on Diode
Decoupling Module rated same as PSU.
● 12 AWG wire for 20A DC system supporting PXC100-
E36-DC distributed by four TXS1.EF4.
● 14 AWG wire for 10A DC system supporting PXC100-
E36-DC distributed by two TXS1.EF4.
● 18 AWG wire from terminal block to device plug.
Installation
WARNING
Turn OFF AC power at the ON/OFF switch
in the Service Box or transformer
enclosure.
