19.1 Communication

During the modem initialisation and the making and
breaking of a connection, a window with the following
contents appears:
Active port: A connection is made or broken on this port.
Maximum wait time: This indicates the maximum time that the status in ques-
tion continues to exist. "0" means that there is no time
limit.
Status texts: These texts are not fault messages but only information
about the progress of the making and breaking of a con-
nection. If Insight really does detect a fault, a message is
subsequently communicated.
[STOP] key: When this key is pressed, the currently ongoing making
and breaking of a connection is interrupted.
However, an interruption in breaking a connection
does not disable the connection break, but only the re-
newal of the modem initialisation process.
The making of a connection on the other hand is always
interrupted. In the case of a modem coupling, the port re-
mains active.
19.1.1 Status texts
Power up
The port has not yet been initialized.
No connection
The modem is ready but there is no connection.
Modem initialisation 1...6
The modem initialisation takes place in several steps.
Sending dial sequence
The dial sequence is sent.
Waiting for line...
Dialling and waiting for connection.
Line here
The partner has responded.
