Product Description

This kit contains the parts needed to field mount the

RL 147 Positioning Relay on a 1/2 to 4-inch Super

Flowrite™ valve or a 12-inch Flowrite valve

manufactured before March 1978 with an actuator

Part Number 672-075, 672-076, or 672-077.

Required Tools

• Medium flat-blade screwdriver

• Two 7/16-inch (11 mm) open-end wrenches

Expected Installation Time

10 minutes

Prerequisites

• Clean, dry, oil-free air supply

• 147-2000 Positioning Relay

• Measure the stem travel of the Super

Flowrite valve or locate the stem travel for

the 12-inch Flowrite stem in Table 2.

• Know the desired spring range of the valve

Installation

1. Attach the relay mounting bracket (1) to the

lower housing of the valve actuator with the

clamp (8) provided. The lower edge of the

bracket must be against the lower housing

extension.

2. Attach the relay to the mounting bracket with

two captive screws furnished on the relay body.

Loosen the cover screw to remove the cover for

access to one of the screws.

3. Attach the feedback arm to the lever assembly

on the relay using the two screws and two lock

washers provided with the relay. The feedback

arm must clear the mounting bracket and the

actuator lower housing.

4. Loosen the lower hex nut on the valve stem

with an open-end wrench and slip the spring

arm between the hex nuts.

Position the spring arm (7) on the valve stem so the hole for the adjusting screw (3) is in line with the spring guide. Lock in position between the two hex nuts on the valve stem. 6. Select the proper feedback spring(s). a. Find the stem travel from Table 2, or measure the stem travel. d. Remove the spring(s) from the spring card.
