Product Description

This kit contains the parts needed to field mount the

RL 147 Positioning Relay on the 12-inch Flowrite™

Valve Actuator.

Required Tools

• Medium flat-blade screwdriver

• 1/2-inch (13 mm) open-end wrench

• Two 5/8-inch (16 mm) open-end wrenches

Expected Installation Time

10 minutes

Prerequisites

• Clean, dry, oil-free air supply

• 147-2000 Positioning Relay

• Part number of the valve assembly or stem

travel of the valve

Installation

1. Attach the mounting bracket (1) to the actuator

with the two cap screws (8). See Figure 1.

Tighten with the 1/2-inch open-end wrench.

2. Attach the relay to the mounting bracket with

the two captive screws furnished on the relay

body. Loosen the cover screw to remove the

cover for access to one of the screws.

3. Attach the feedback arm to the lever assembly

on the relay using the two screws and two lock

washers provided. The feedback arm must

clear the mounting bracket and the actuator

lower housing.

4. Loosen the lower hex nut on the valve stem with

an open-end wrench and slip the spring arm (7)

between the hex nuts.

Position the spring arm (7) on the valve stem so the hole for the adjusting screw (3) is in line with the spring guide. Lock in position between the two hex nuts on the valve stem. 6. Select feedback spring(s). a. Find the stem travel from Table 3 or 4. b. If the stem travel exactly matches the nominal spring travel range in Table 2, read across the row to find the part number of the spring(s) you need. d.
