Item Explanation
Local service interface
This interface is used to connect HMIs for commissioning, service
and user operation.
It is also used to connect to the SAPRO PC development tool and
SCOPE PC commissioning tool.
RS485 for Modbus RTU or
BACnet MSTP
The RS485 port controls the necessary devices (Siemens or third-
party) in the application, such as variable speed drives, soft starters,
or compressors. The controller is typically the master role on the
Modbus network.
The RS485 port can also integrate building management. The
controller can be configured as a typical Modbus slave on the
network, or a BACnet server through the MS/TP interface.
USB-Host Supports USB stick for firmware and application upgrade.
Ethernet IP
The IP interface connects to the Ethernet network, supporting
Modbus IP, BACnet IP and the JSON protocol.
The interface can also connects to Climatix IC and SAPRO/SCOPE
tools.
Peripheral bus
The bus connects to one of the extension IO modules of Climatix
family. Connecting to third-party Modbus slave devices is also
supported.
M-Bus
The M-bus is a European standard for remote reading of heating
meters. It is also suited for use with other types of consumption
meters and various sensors and actuators.

C400 controllers are HVAC controllers optimized for:

● Light commercial chiller application
● Compact air handling unit
● Flat stations and district heating applications

3.4 Compatible peripherals of Climatix family
The following peripheral units and HMIs are compatible and can be connected to
C400 controllers.
