Notes on System Architecture
The Trane Enhanced 2000 Driver provides
communication between the APOGEE
®
Automation
System and the Trane system through Trane’s BCU
panels with an RS-232 connection.
Functionality
The Trane Enhanced 2000 Driver can be loaded
into MBC Open Processor and MEC hardware. The
driver is a microprocessor-based, multitasking platform
designed for multi-system communication and control. It
communicates with Insight
®
software, other APOGEE
field panels and controllers, and the Trane system.
Through the Insight workstation, the Trane points can be
monitored and commanded. The Trane points integrated
into the APOGEE Automation System can be accessed
by system applications such as Powers Process Control
Language, scheduling, trending, and alarming.
The Trane Enhanced 2000 Driver will not affect, in any
way, the operating sequence or safeties as factory
programmed into the Trane system.
Keys to Success
The number of points that are available from Trane by
default are minimal. Be sure to specify additional points
that are required at the start of the project to avoid
additional costs from Trane.
