Security
WebTOS allows users to access TOS via the intranet or
Internet using the standard Microsoft Internet Explorer
Web browser 5.5 or later. All Windows XP authentication
levels are supported. Users may log off when they are
done, or they will be automatically logged off after a
given period of inactivity. WebTOS supports Secure
Sockets Layer (SSL) technology for Internet and intranet
connections to ensure safe transmission of data.
How WebTOS Works
WebTOS consists of three components that allow users
to interact with TOS via a Web browser:
1. The WebTOS component for the Internet
Information Server (IIS) is the Web site that
defines the WebTOS interface. IIS is Microsoft’s
standard Web server that responds to Web
browsers that connect to the WebTOS site, runs
the Active Server Pages (ASP) applications, and
returns HTML pages to the browser requesting
them. WebTOS pages containing ASP scripting
and instructions reside on a computer running
Windows NT 4 Server and IIS version 4.0 or
Windows 2000 Server and IIS version 5.0. IIS
can run on a stand-alone computer, or on the
Insight Database Server computer.

Building Managers can also give Tenant Administrators
access to select reports for managing their after-hour
activity:
1. Scheduled Override Requests
2. Tenant Summary
3. Billing Summary
4. Override Requests in Progress
2. The TOS component installed on any Insight
workstation is an NT service that sends an
override command to the Insight server.
3. The third component is the Microsoft Internet
Explorer 5.5 or later Web browser. This is not an
actual component of WebTOS, but resides on
the computer used to access WebTOS.

reports (when given access by Building Manager).
