Enables building operators to react faster to out-of-
normal conditions that may compromise safety or
comfort.
Minimizes unnecessary service trips by reducing
nuisance alarms.
Displays HVAC, Security, Fire, Maintenance,
Laboratory Fume Hood Safety, and other third
party integrated systems’ out-of-normal conditions
on a single alarm printer/monitor or at selected
alarm printers.
Displays uninterrupted alarm indication/counter
even when the operator is using Microsoft
applications, including Excel and Word. The alarm
indicator displays and the operator can quickly
switch back to the Insight alarm display without
exiting out of Word or Excel.
Typical examples of Alarm Management uses include:
Automatically send alarm notification to on-site
alarm printers during operating hours and to a
remote location during after hours
Automatically send selected alarm notification to
pagers
Designate alarm severity by color codes at the
Insight workstation for at-a-glance viewing on
graphics and the Alarm Display.
Change the alarm printer routing based on
severity.
Set floating alarm limits as an offset to the setpoint
(for example, ± 5 degrees from setpoint).
Assign multiple floating alarm limits color coding
(for example, green, yellow, red) to indicate
varying levels of severity of the alarm.
Store alarm records to disk for historical purposes.
Sort alarm display and printout by type, priority or
date of occurrence
Customize alarm messages for each alarm to
provide specific instructions to the operator.
Attach a Point Memo to the alarm record for the
next shift operator.
Assign alarms to destinations. Designate
destinations to display on specific alarm printers
(that is, HVAC routine alarms to maintenance
office, HVAC critical alarms sent to facility
manager office or a pager, security alarms to
guard station).
Define alarm parameters through Insight or
through the field panel operator interface program.
Operator Interface
Definition of alarm parameters:
You have the ability to define alarm messages, set up
alarm routing destinations and alarm levels from a fill-
in-the blank editor at the Insight graphical workstation
or from a prompted menu at a terminal connected to
the field panel.
Alarm reporting:
On-site text based at terminal or printer connected
to field panel RS-232 port
Alarm report on Insight graphical workstation
Dial out to a remote alarm destination
Optional text based messages on pagers
