11. Enter the CSR and vector addresses for the
second device by typing
DU:/CSR=172150/VEC=154
and pressing
<RETURN>
.
The following time prompt displays:
Hit RETURN and enter date and time as
’TIM HH:MM MM/DD/YY’
12. Remove the loading tape by pressing the
UNLOAD
button. Wait until the yellow light stops
flashing and the green light labeled “Operate
Lever” illuminates before moving the lever to the
unlocked position. The tape slides out and can
now be removed from the tape drive.
13. You are now ready to load the Revision K.0
system from the streamer tape to the hard disk.
Insert and load the Revision K.0 Master tape in
the tape drive.
14. Respond to the time prompt (displayed in Step
11) by entering the time and date. Use the
following format:
TIM HH:MM MM/DD/YY <RETURN>
where:
HH = hours 00 through 23 (24 hour clock)
MM = minutes 00 through 59
DD = day 01 through 31
MM = month 01 through 12
YY = year 98, 99, 00, etc.
Be sure to enter the colons (:) between the
hours and minutes, add a space between the
time and date, and add slashes (/) between the
day, month, and year.
15. At the MCR prompt, type
RUN BRU
and press
<RETURN>
.
The BRU prompt (
BRU>)
displays.
16. At the BRU prompt, type
/INI/VER/REW MU0:
DU0:
and press
<RETURN>
.
17. When the
BRU COMPLETE
message displays,
remove the Revision K.0 Master tape from the
drive.
18. Locate the console/serial line unit switch on the
back of the 11/93 console and set dip switch
number 5 to the OFF position. Refer to Figure 1-
1 for the location of the console/serial line unit
switch.
19. Boot the system. When the time prompt
appears, abort the start-up. If a battery backup
clock is installed, then wait for the clock to
answer the time prompt before aborting the
start-up. To abort the start-up, type:

CTRL+C
Type
ABO AT.
and press
<RETURN>

20. Type the current time and date as you did in
Step 14.
21. Insert and load the tape or cartridge containing
the old copy of the database in the drive.
22. The following steps should be run from a hard
copy device (e.g., MCR printer) to aid Field
Support if problems arise.

Begin the conversion process. Type
@[3,352]REVK
and press
<RETURN>
.
The system converts your current system from
Revision J.8 or pre-release K.0 to Revision K.0.
During this procedure, you are required to
respond to several prompts. When your input is
required, two beeps sound and a question
displays at the Revision K.0 prompt (
REVK.0>
).
Read the question and the accompanying
information. Provide the appropriate information
for your system type. Continue to read and
respond to all prompts. When the conversion
process is complete, the following message
displays:
REVISION K.0 UPDATE PROCEDURE
COMPLETE
24. When the conversion is complete, mark the old
tape with the proper revision name (Revision J.8
or pre-release K.0) and save it for at least 4
weeks. The old tape can be used for a system
backup after that time.
25. Run
$SHUTUP
and then reboot the system.
After the system has been booted, run basic
tests to verify that the conversion process has
