to this question. When the time
prompt appears, abort the start-up. If a battery
backup clock is installed, then wait for the clock
to answer the time prompt before aborting the
start-up. To abort the start-up, do the following:
Press
CTRL+C
Type
ABO AT.
and press

13. The following steps should be run from a hard
copy device (e.g., MCR printer) to aid Field
Support if problems arise.
14. Begin the conversion process. Type

The system converts your current job disks from
Revision J.8 or pre-release K.0 to Revision K.0.
During this procedure, you are required to
respond to several prompts; you may also be
required to load additional disks into the RL02
drives. When your input is required, two beeps
sound and a question displays at the Revision
K.0 prompt (REVK.0>).
Read the question and the accompanying
information. Provide the appropriate information
for your system type. Continue to read and
respond to all prompts.
15. Dual disk systems only: Near the end of the
conversion process, the system reboots from
drive DL1, and you are prompted to enter the
time and date. Type the time and date as you
did in Steps 6 and 7.
16. Dual disk systems only: The following steps
should be run from a hard copy device (e.g.,
MCR printer) to aid Field Support if problems
arise.
17. Dual disk systems only: Type the following
command at the MCR prompt (>):
@DL1:[3,352]KFINAL <RETURN>
18. When the conversion process is complete, the
following message displays:
REVISION K.0 UPDATE PROCEDURE
COMPLETE
19. When the conversion is complete, run the
GREEN and YELLOW disks on the job site.
Mark the RED and BLUE disks with the proper
revision name (Revision J.8 or pre-release K.0)
and keep them at least four weeks. The RED
and BLUE disks can be used for system
backups after that time.
20. Run
$SHUTUP
and then reboot the system.
After the system has been booted, run basic
tests to verify that the conversion process has
been successful and that Revision K.0 is
working properly. You should make a backup as
soon as possible after verification of the system
operation is complete.
21. The original Revision K.0 disks should be
returned to the Branch where they can be used
for additional conversions for this system type to
Revision K.0. These are the Master disks and
should be used only to make a copy with BRU to
create GREEN and YELLOW disks.
Expected Installation Time
Conversion from:
Revision J.8: 4.0

Revision K.0 (Pre-release): 3.5 hours.
