2.2 Data flow
The data flow in the integrated system is shown in Fig. 3 by black arrows.
LMS controls and receives information from the subsystems connected to the gateway,
as in normal stand alone applications (arrows A and B in Fig. 3). The FSS system can
partially manage and monitor Cerberus control panel through the FHI Pad connection
with FSS (arrows C and D in Fig. 3). The control is only partial because the exchanged
messages are only a subset of those available to LMS system.

Moreover, it is able to receive information from FSS field devices through the FHI Pad
connection with FSS (arrow F in Fig. 4); similarly, LMS is able to send commands to
technological plant items (arrow G in Fig. 4).
