• System control media treatment must be compatible with valve packings—EPDM or
Teflon.
• Water system pH levels must be maintained within acceptable limits.
• When installing valves with sweat fittings, take precautions to prevent overheating of
packing and trim components.
• The piping system must physically support the valve assembly; the valve must not support
the piping system.
