The hotplates
Residual heat indicator
The hob has a residual heat indicator for each hotplate to show
those which are still hot. Avoid touching them when this
indicator is lit.
Although the hob is switched off, the indicator
œ or will
remain on for as long as the hotplate is hot.
If the pan is removed before the hotplate is turned off, the
indicator
œ or and the selected power level will appear
alternately.
Control discs
The power levels and time functions can be set by rotating the
control discs.
The control discs are removable. Thus, they can be easily
cleaned.
The control discs can also be removed from the hob while it is
working. All the hotplates switch off after 3 seconds. The
display shows the residual heat indicator
œ/.
If the control disc is put back in place, the hob may be
controlled once more.
Always place the control disc in its compartment with the shiny
black side downwards.
Storing the control discs
The control discs are magnetic. Do not bring the control discs
close to magnetic data mediums such as video cassettes,
disks, credit cards and other cards with a magnetic strip. They
could be damaged. The control discs can also cause
malfunctions in televisions and monitors.
: For individuals with electronic implants, such as
pacemakers and insulin pumps:!
The magnetic fields can also interfere in the correct operation
of implants. So, the control discs should never be carried in
handbags. They should be kept at least 10 cm from
pacemakers.
Note: The control discs are magnetic. Metal particles sticking to
the lower part could scrape the surface of the hob and the front
strip. Thoroughly clean the control discs
