Flexible zone
This may be used as one complete hotplate or two individual
hotplates depending on the actual cooking needs.
Operation.
It consists of several independently controlled inductors. When
the zone is working, those inductors that are not covered by
cookware are automatically turned off.
Advice on using cookware
To ensure that the cookware is detected and heat is distributed
evenly, correctly centre the cookware:
■ in the upper or lower part of the flexible zone, when the
cookware is smaller than 13 cm (see diagram)
■ or in one of the two halves of the flexible zone, when the
cookware is larger than 13 cm (see diagram).
When using cookware of a different size or made of a different
material, noise and vibrations that do not affect the correct
working of the zone may occur.
Consisting of two independent zones
The flexible zone can be used normally as two independent
hotplates.

As one hotplate
To use the entire hotplate with all individual zones.
How to activate
The hob must be switched on.
1. Place the cookware and press the þ symbol. The Nþ indicator
lights up. The flexible hotplate has been activated. Then slide
your finger over the programming panel until the required
power level is displayed.
2. To change the power level: Select the flexible hotplate by
pressing the symbol
þ and changing the power level with the
programming panel
To add more cookware
Press the symbol
þ so that the cookware is detected.
To deactivate
Set to 0 on the programming panel.
To use as two separate hotplates once again
Press either of the symbols
ü or ý on one of the two hotplates
that form part of the flexible hotplate. The flexible hotplate is
turned off and operates once again as two separate hotplates.
Childproof lock
The hob can be protected against being accidentally turned on,
to ensure that children do not switch on the hotplates.
Activating and deactivating the childproof
lock.
The range must be turned off.
To activate: press and hold the
# symbol for approx.
4 seconds. The
@ symbol lights up for 10 seconds. The
range is locked.
To deactivate: press and hold the
# symbol for approx.
4 seconds. The lock is now deactivated.

With this function, the childproof lock automatically activates
when a hob is switched off.

Powerboost function
The Powerboost function can be used to heat large amounts of
water more quickly than the power level
Š.
Restrictions when using
This function may be used for all hotplates, provided that the
other hotplate in the same group is not turned on. (See figure)
Otherwise, the
› and Š symbols will flash on the display of the
selected hotplate; then the power level
Š is automatically set
without the function being activated.
