1 Scope and Purpose
This document provides an overview of Supply Air Temperature (SAT) Reset strategies and describes how
to configure Central Functions to set up SAT reset using DXR automation stations.
Supply Air Temperature Reset is a common method for optimizing supply air temperature. It is addressed in
several building energy codes and system standards and guidelines - see Appendix [➙ 20].
There are many ways to comply with the standards as they are intentionally vague. For example, multiple
zone HVAC systems must include controls that automatically reset the supply air temperature in response
to representative building loads or to outside air temperature. The controls shall reset the supply air
temperature at least 25% of the difference between the design supply air temperature and design room
temperature.
This document describes how to:
● Set up initial DXR application configuration parameters to support SAT reset.
● Set up a Central Function DXR in conjunction with the room controller.
● Configure the use of heating and cooling demand signals to control SAT Reset.
