Commissioning specialists (Support specialists)
In the Startup component of ABT Site, each automation station is selected and loaded by a Commissioning
specialist. After loading, the Commissioning specialist will select each automation station by issuing the Go
online command, and log in via ABT-SSA.
Accessing the ABT-SSA interface [➙ 6]
Using the Checkout report for the job, the Commissioning specialist will:
1. Command and monitor setpoints and values for accuracy.
2. Modify any inaccurate setpoints and values, and record the changes.
3. Checkout and test all equipment by operating each one to the minimum and maximum range.
4. Record the results in a Checkout report.
5. Upload the corrections/modifications by performing a Pack & Return and export the updated project file to
the Engineer.
Balancers
After all the automation stations have been loaded, monitored, corrected, and checked out, the system is ready
to be balanced.
Balancing [➙ 49]
Using the online ABT-SSA tool, the Balancer will:
1. Set the Balancing state object to Balancing.
2. Issue bulk commands in the Global functions task in ABT Site or issue individual commands in ABT-SSA to
setup the balancing effort.
3. Select the Favorite view.
4. Set the Balancing mode object to Maximum.
5. Read the results from the controller and/or hood.
6. Command the automation station to re-calculate the flow coefficient(s).
7. Repeat the test until the results are within a specified percentage of accuracy.
8. Set the Balancing mode object to Minimum.
9. Read the results from the controller and/or hood.
10. Recalculate each flow coefficient as needed.
11. Command the automation station to re-calculate the flow coefficient(s).
12. Repeat the test until the results are within a specified percentage of accuracy.
13. Set the Balancing state object to balanced.
14. Upload online report data in the ABT Site Global functions task.
15. Release any objects commanded in Global functions before closing ABT Site.
16. Record the results in the Balancer report for the customer.
17. Create the uploaded report data in Startup > Export.
Service Technicians
The project is turned over to Service Technicians after the project is up and running. The Service Technician
will:
1. Maintain the system.
2. Perform upgrades of software and firmware on all automation stations as called for in the service
agreement.
3. Spot-check the system online from a workstation.
4. Troubleshoot over the network.
5. Isolate an automation station and go to it if need be.
