Adding devices through ABT-SSA
1. Select > Favorite commissioning > Device discovery.
2. Click to activate Edit mode.
3. Click Discover and then click OK to clear the message.
 While the system is updating, the work area is cleared and the message No items displays.
4. Select the check box(es) for the discovered device(s) you want to monitor.
5. Click Copy.
6. Click Favorite commissioning > Assigned devices.
7. Click Paste.
8. When you are finished adding devices, click to close Edit mode.
 The copied devices are added to the Assigned devices structure and are now available for monitoring in
ABT-SSA.
Adding devices through ABT Site
In ABT Site, this workflow is completed through Engineering > Device assignment > Assign devices.
2.5.3 Adjusting the parameters for device discovery
This procedure modifies the properties of the device discovery. For example, you can limit the discovery to the
local network and a specific range of device numbers.
Adjusting the parameters for device discovery
1. Select > Favorite commissioning > Device discovery.
2. Click to open Edit mode.
3. Click Options to open the filtered properties page of Discovered devices.
4. Use the following table to make selections for each parameter.
Setting
Description
Discovery scope
Determines if the device discovery is restricted to the local network or if remote networks are
included.
Options: Local network or Remote network.
If Remote network is selected, verify that the Network number setting is correct.
Network number
The network number to use for the device discovery.
Max. device instance number
Min. device instance number
Limits the device discovery to a range of devices.
The maximum value is 4194302. The minimum value is 1.
Include 3rd party devices
Determines if third-party devices are included in the device discovery.
Select No to exclude third-party devices, or Yes to include third-party devices.
Command
Issues a Discover command using the modified parameters.
Note: The message No items displays while responses from the network are being processed.
