7 Creating History Database and New Project
Launching the System Management Console (SMC):
1. From the MS Windows start menu as shown in the figure below, click Start >Siemens>Desigo
CC SMC or click the System Management Console shortcut on the desktop.
7.1 Creating and Configuring a History Database
The History Database (HDB) is required to log a wide range of user and system activities as well as
online and offline trend data.
7.1.1 Selecting an MS SQL Server
1. In the Console tree, select History Infrastructure.
2. Select the Historic Data tab.
3. Select the SQL Servers expander and click:
- Scan Local: Detects all MS SQL servers on the local computer.
4. In the SQL Servers expander, select the desired SQL server name. Default SQL server name =
(local)\GMS_HDB_EXPRESS.
5. Click Link .
