Datamate Database Maintenance
System databases can be imported into Datamate
Advanced from Insight Revision 314 and 3.15 using
the Insight Backup Utility This utility converts the
Insight database to a Datamate database, which
eliminates the need to duplicate efforts for both
systems. New jobs created in Datamate Advanced
3.16 or higher uses an ATOM database that is no
longer interchangeable with the latest Insight Revision
since Insight 3.15 is the last Insight revision.
This utility also provides facility managers with a
means for backing up the entire Datamate Advanced
Database. This supplemental backup can be used in
conjunction with Insight database backups to provide
additional support in the event that a disaster recovery
plan needs to be implemented.
Offline Editing
A computer with Datamate Advanced can be used to
edit a system database offline, giving operators the
opportunity to complete and review all of the required
changes prior to downloading them to the system.
Database editing features include the ability to create
and modify:
• Event definitions
• Graphics
• Point attributes, definitions and groups
• Point alarm, trend and schedule definitions
• PPCL operating program
• Report definitions
• System Profile
• Scheduling
• Time-of-Day
• User Accounts
Online help provides detailed information and step-by-
step procedures to assist the operator in creating or
modifying the database.
Online Editing
Desigo CC option and Online Mode capability for use
with Desigo
TM
CC for database editing.
Real time Online editing of field panel data. Database
changes can be saved for later download or
immediately sent to the field panel.
Includes Global Commander, Database Transfer,
Panel Point Log Report and System Activity Log.
Licensing through same mechanism as Desigo CC.
Terminal Emulation
A computer with Datamate Advanced in terminal mode
functions as an operator terminal. While in terminal
mode and connected to a field panel’s RJ-11
communications port, an operator with the appropriate
access level can perform the following functions:
• Display point information
• Command point values
• Perform online editing of (PPCL) lines of code in
control programs
• Create, modify, and delete system points
• Create and modify operational schedules
• Display system reports
Graphics Editing
Graphics can be created and customized to suit any
operator’s need or to enhance graphic capabilities.
However, dynamic graphics can only be viewed from
the Insight software. Graphics options include:
• Point information
• Animation, position controls, or information
blocks
• Analog bars
• Link controls to related Insight applications
• Link controls to company specific email, Web
sites or documents on a network
• Graphics linked in a logical structure
FLN Devices
In addition to communicating with field panels,
Datamate Advanced allows users to interface locally
with FLN devices. This eliminates the need to use
separate software programs to communicate with field
panels, TECs, ATECs, Wireless TECs, Secure Mode
TECs, UCs, and TX-I/O Modules.
Point Commissioning and Checkout
Datamate Advanced includes the ability to generate
PTM point module labels, a point checkout report, and
a Point Summary Report that can be used for
commissioning new physical points and field panels.
