4.3.7 User devices
By defining user devices, you can simplify the multiple use of logical devices within a configu-
ration.
A logical unit consisting of any combination of monitoring devices, logic devices, external de-
vice monitoring devices and system devices can be defined as a user device. To do this, all
components of a user device must be logically linked to one another, i.e. a user device has
exactly one logical output value.
Once defined, user devices are available in the icon library with a selectable symbol (icon),
which can be used multiple times in configuration/OSSD windows.

Defining user devices
A user device is defined by selecting the device which supplies the logical result of a logical
unit of devices, clicking this device with the right mouse button and then selecting the Create
user device command from the pop-up window which opens.
