Active card
The 0928-0 is a factory-encoded active card that includes a lithium bat-
tery which enables it to provide hands-free functionality when it is used
together with Cotag hands-free readers. When it is used with a Cotag
hands-free reader‚ the reading range is up to 1 metre. With Cotag prox-
imity readers‚ the reading range is up to 30 cm.
0928-0 tags are particularly useful in environments where some card-
holders are disabled or often have their hands full (i.e. a hospital or
warehouse).
One of the major advantages of Cotag technology is that active and
passive cards can be mixed in the same system to provide ultimate con-
venience and cost-efficiency.

The 0968-0 is a factory-encoded passive card that does not include a
battery. It can be used in combination with any Cotag reader. When it
is used with a Cotag hands-free reader‚ the reading range is approxi-
mately 34 cm. With Cotag proximity readers‚ the reading range is up to
11 cm.
One of the major advantages of Cotag technology is that active and
passive cards can be mixed in the same system to provide ultimate con-
venience and cost-efficiency.
