• PCPU – Control Software must be Version 9.0 or higher.
Workstation / PC
• Workstation-PC - with Ethernet port 10Mbit/s, minimum Pentium III / 400Mhz / 64MByte RAM

• Operating Software: GC TOOLS - Windows-based Workstation software
Network
• Ethernet-Hub to connect to other network nods or to other media such as Fiber-Optic or Coax-
Cable.
• Preferably the network should support DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration). However, this is not
absolutely necessary.
3 Gateway Configuration
Generation of Ethernet Addresses
Normally a so-called DHCP server assigns the IP-Addresses to a specific Ethernet-network participant. In
case such a server is not available, the IP-Addresses have to be assigned manually which can be done
with the provided software tools RemoteIpConfig. RemoteIpConfig uses Win98/WinNT or Win2000.
Configuration of Communication Driver Clax2
The ChromLAN – Communication Driver Clax2 is responsible for the link between your Workstation and
the connected gateways or chromatographs.
CLAX2 serves the common serial ports of your PC (COM1 to COMn) as well as the PC installed Ethernet
port.
The configuration of Clax2 uses an Applet of the Windows-System Controller ChromLAN Konfiguration.
With that Applet, the connected ChromLan gateways can be selected. Using the Ethernet network, the
necessary adjustments of the individual gateways can be done.
