Siemens Building Technologies Ethernet PROFIBUS Link CK1N9863en
Building Automation 01.05.2002
Properties
The E/P link supports up to 30 active PROFIBUS devices. If the number of devices
exceeds 30, install another E/P link.
SIMATIC automation stations directly attached to the E/P link are considered active
devices (process bus devices).
The PROFIBUS parameters (baud rate, highest station address) and the TCP/IP
network parameters (subnet, router) can be configured on the E/P link.
On the Ethernet side, the E/P link uses exactly one freely selectable TCP/IP address.
The E/P link is transparent for SICLIMAT X in terms of B&B and test operation
functions, as the telegrams from and to the SICLIMAT X-OS simply pass through.
Downloading S7 applications created with the help of the SICLIMAT Engineering
Manager EM follows standard S7 procedures. Thus, downloading via the E/P link is not
possible, but instead takes place via a SIMATIC-PG with direct PROFIBUS access.
Engineering
The Ethernet physically is connected via a twisted pair cable or 10Base2 (cheaper net).
The E/P link supports 10Mbit Ethernet. If the process bus of the X-OS is set up for
100Mbits, the E/P link must be connected via an intelligent switch that can select the
speed for each line. This switch is available as a standard IP component.
Connect the PROFIBUS via the 9-pin sub-D plug at the E/P link.
When delivered, the E/P link has a preset IP address which must be changed once via
the serial interface of the E/P link for use in the plant. Access occurs via the serial
interface by means of the null modem cable and a terminal or a terminal emulation on
the PC. Afterwards, the E/P link is know in the Ethernet and can be configured from the
SICLIMAT X.
The configuration data for the E/P link are generated from the setting data of the
communication channel (pccS7), and transferred to the E/P link via FTP.
The E/P link software is protected and can be enabled by means of the standard
SICLIMAT X licensing key.
