Use
The E/P link enables data exchange between the SIMATIC S7 automation stations and
SICLIMAT X via PROFIBUS. In this case, the PROFIBUS is implemented physically on
the Ethernet so that the standard Ethernet connection can be used at the SICLIMAT X.
The E/P link can be operated together with other network members on the Ethernet
(e.g. further E/P links or SIMATIC S7 automation stations).
On the PROFIBUS, the E/P link supports the known SICLIMAT PROFIBUS topologies
for process and local bus. The E/P link is a PROFIBUS master and communicates
using the PROFIBUS protocol with SIMATIC S7. Other PROFIBUS protocols such as
PROFIBUS-DP (decentralized peripherals) can be used in parallel.
For support purposes, the E/P link features an integrated web server that can be
accessed via Ethernet using the PC and a standard browser software.
No additional software must be installed on the service PC.
E/P link supports the following services via the integrated web server functionality:
• Output of telegram statistics.
• Output of PROFIBUS live list.
• Output of logging data.
• Display of all configurations.
• Change of log settings.
• Change of diagnostic settings.
• Download of device documentation.
