SICLIMAT FSK modem FSKMOD

The SICLIMAT FSK modem is used for long-distance signal transmission by bus

cable, and to allow redundant connection of bus segments.

Use

The modem converts the information packets from the PROFIBUS in accordance with

the IEC 61 158/ EN 50 170 standard into FSK signals. The process supports a bus

structure, on both the PROFIBUS and the FSK side.

Distances up to a maximum of 14 km can be bridged with a two-wire twisted-pair cable.

Transmission over the public telephone network is not permitted.

Switches are provided on the front plate for the following:

• Level reduction to prevent crosstalk during transmission in parallel with analogue

voice cables

• Change-over to redundant transmission. This makes it possible to establish

redundant connections between bus segments (e.g. PROFIBUS) over long

distances. Transmission is in half-duplex mode. With redundant transmission, a bus

structure on the FSK side is not possible.

• Baud rate change-over, to adapt the baud rate to the distance to be bridged.
