Operating the Answering Machine
Remotely
You can check your answering machine from any other
telephone (e.g. hotel phone, pay phone).
Prerequisite:
You can only operate your answering machine remotely
if you have already changed the factory default PIN
(0000) from home (see page 73).
o Dial your own telephone number.
When you hear your announcement:

o Press the 9 key then enter PIN. You are informed whe-
ther new messages have been recorded.
When you hear the new messages you have the follo-
wing options:
1 Go to the start of the current message.
To go to back to previous messages (press repeatedly).
or 2 Pause.
Continue (press once more).
or 3 Go to the next message.
To go to forward to subsequent messages (press re-
peatedly).
or : Mark the message as “new”.
or 0 Delete the current message.
You will find instructions for this in credit card for-
mat in the appendix.
For remote operation, the telephone you are cal-
ling from must support tone dialing (DTMF
dialing).This means you can hear a tone when
you press a key.
