1.2. AFES (Auto False Echo Suppression) Wizard
If you have a vessel with known obstructions, we recommend using AFES to prevent false
echo detection.
This feature can also be used if SITRANS LR560 displays a false high level, or the reading
is fluctuating between the correct level and a false high level.
a) Make sure the material level is below all known obstructions.
b) Navigate to Level Meter >
Diagnostics (3.) > Echo Profile (3.2.)
and press RIGHT arrow to
request a profile.
c) Determine a range that includes the
false echo but not the true echo: in
the example, 3.3 m.
d) Open the AFES wizard and press
DOWN arrow to continue.
e) Press RIGHT arrow to edit Auto
False Echo Suppression Range.
f) Enter the new range value and press
RIGHT arrow to transfer it.
g) Press DOWN arrow to initiate
learn. A transition screen appears,
followed by the message Wizard
Complete.
h) Press DOWN arrow (Finish) to save AFES parameter changes and return to
Program menu.
Note: Before using AFES, configure the device via the Quick Start wizard.
