Hardware Reset
Hardware reset is available to clear the administrator username, password and restore the net-
work setting default (DHCP Automatically assign IP address) proles. This procedure does not
delete the data from the hard disks.
Make sure the OMNINAS is powered on before starting a hardware reset.
1. Locate the Reset button on the back of the device.
2. Insert a thin tool and press the button in for three seconds.

3. After a beep sounds, release the button.
The system reboots.
4. Log in at this time. See Connecting Your OMNINAS.
Updating Firmware
Firmware Update provides an easy method to update the system’s rmware.
CAUTION:
Do not power down or disconnect the power cord during a rmware update to prevent dam-
age to the system.
Before you begin, download the latest rmware from the following site:
http://global.shuttle.com/download/download
From the support site, select your OMNINAS type and select your respective rmware update.
Download it to a local folder. The rmware le is packaged in a compressed format. It is not nec-
essary to unzip the le.
