Upgrading the DVS Software to Windows Server 2012 64-bit
Standard or Datacenter Edition
If you are upgrading the server software to Windows 2012 64-bit from Windows 2008 R2 32-bit/64-bit
or Windows 2003 32-bit, perform the steps below.
1. Take a backup of the Shoreline Data/Shoreware registry folder.
2. Upgrade the operating system to Windows Server 2012, Standard or Data Center Edition.
3. Install the ShoreTel system software.
4. If your current server is 64-bit, restore the Shoreline Data/Shoreware registry folder.
If your current server is not 64-bit, manually copy the registry entries modified specifically for your
system.
Verifying the Installation
It typically takes about 30 to 60 seconds after the operating system is up and running for the Microsoft
Internet Information Services (IIS) and ShoreTel voice services to be running. You can do the following
to verify that these applications are running..
1. Click the ShoreTel Director desktop icon to launch ShoreTel Director.
If IIS is not running, an error message appears. If IIS is running, the ShoreTel Director log in page
appears.
2. Log in to ShoreTel Director.
a. In the User ID field, enter the user name that you want to use.
The default user ID is admin.
b. In the Password field, enter the password for the user.
The default password is changeme.
a. Click Login. The Welcome page appears.
3. Click Later in regards to the registration. The navigation menu and Quick Look panel appear.
4. Ensure that the Services column in the Server/Appliance section displays Running for the status
of the headquarters server.
