Checking Server Compatibility
A compatibility checker is available for identifying potential issues prior to installing or upgrading the
ShoreTel Server software. The compatibility checker is included as part of the installer and as a
separate utility.
When running the compatibility checker on a system that does not currently have the ShoreTel Server
software installed, the utility checks for the following:
Roles and features needed for HQ and DVM
Supported OS and service packs
VBScript issues that may occur during installation
Amount of space needed for the installation
When running the compatibility checker prior to upgrading the ShoreTel Server software, the utility
checks for the following:
Roles and features needed for HQ and DVM
Supported OS and service packs
Supported upgrade paths
Amount of space needed for the installation
State of MySQL services and ShoreTel services
Running the Compatibility Checker
This section describes how to run the compatibility checker.
1. Insert the ShoreTel DVD into the DVD drive.
2. Navigate to the DVD drive on your computer, open the Sever folder and then open the
Compatibility Checker folder.
3. Double-click CompatibilityChecker.exe. The Compatibility Checker window appears.
4. Click Compatibility Checker. All components and any compatibility issues are listed.
Note
You must address all compatibility issues before beginning the software installation.
The compatibility checker is also available as part of the installer and can be run from the installation
wizard.
