3. If you have not previously specified the template’s parameters, the Parameters window opens,
and you must define the parameters before you can print the report. Refer to Specifying Template
Parameters on page 33 for more information.
Manually Printing a Report
Manually printing a report allows you to view and use the data immediately.
To manually print a report, open the report, and click File > Print or click the Print Report icon.
Automatically Printing a Report
Automatically printing a report is useful when you want to generate and print a report periodically.
Refer to Automatically Generating a Report (Scheduling a Report) on page 41 for information.
Automatically Emailing Reports
You can automatically generate and email a report periodically, as detailed in Automatically Generating
a Report (Scheduling a Report) on page 41.
Exporting Report Data
Report data can be exported to various file formats. There are two ways to export report data:
manually or by scheduling the report to be automatically generated and exported at a later time.
The supported export file formats for historical reports are:
Comma-Separated Values (.CSV)
Enhanced Metafile Format (.EMF)
Microsoft Excel (.XLS)
To export a report to the XLS format, before beginning the export process make sure to widen the
first field in the report template. This ensures that the subtotals in that field are displayed.
Portable Document Format (.PDF)
To export a report to PDF, your administrator has to first installed a required component on your
machine. If you are unable to export reports to PDF, contact your administrator.
