Using the Directory to Find Numbers and Place Calls
You can use the Directory to find phone numbers on your network by pressing the Menu button,
then 1.
The Directory screen appears.
Push >>> to see the other soft keys. Push it again to cycle through all available soft keys.
Using the Directory, you can:
Enter the first few letters of the extension owner’s first or last name to narrow the number of entries
that Directory displays.
Press # for a space in a person's name and press * for a wildcard character. If you press an
incorrect key, press the Back soft key to delete the character.
Press up or down on the 4-way controller to highlight the desired name. Press the center button on
the 4-way controller or the Dial soft key to dial the number.
Note
The Directory lists any keypad speed dials you have configured in ShoreTel Communicator. To dial
a number from this screen, press and hold the corresponding number on the keypad, or use the
Scroll button to highlight an entry, and then press the Dial soft key.
You can access the Directory when using other features, such as Intercom, Transfer, Park, Unpark,
and Conference. Refer to those sections in this guide for more information.
