Customizing Your Phone Enabling Handsfree Mode to Suppress Dial Tone for Off-Hook Headsets

To change the phone back to the default time zone:
1. Press the Options soft key.
The Options menu opens.
2. Press the navigation key to scroll to the Time zone option.
3. Press the Reset soft key.
4. Press the Exit soft key.
The time displayed on your phone screen matches the default time zone.
Enabling Handsfree Mode to Suppress Dial Tone for
Off-Hook Headsets
If you frequently use a headset, you might want to enable the Handsfree Mode so that you do not hear
the dial tone when you go off hook with your wired or wireless headset.
1. Press the Options soft key.
The Options menu opens.
2. Press the navigation key to scroll to the Handsfree mode option.
3. To enable handsfree mode, use one of the following methods:
 Press the Toggle soft key to toggle the ringer value between Off to On.
 Press the selector button on the navigation key pad to toggle between On and Off.
 On the navigation key pad, press the key to select On or the key to select Off.
4. Press the Exit soft key.
Note
Even with Handsfree Mode enabled, if you have unheard voicemail messages you hear a short stutter
tone.
