4. B I O S (basic input and output system) setting
In this chapter, we will teach you how to enter the BIOS setup program and set various
hardware control options, and you will also learn how to use the built-in security settings.
[Setup Utility] is a hardware status program built into the BIOS (basic input and output
system) of a laptop. It can perform and maintain many hardware functions. It is a kind of
software that uses the mode of the menu to operate, allowing you to easily set and change the
set value.
BIOS contains factory default values for laptops. However, you still have a chance to modify
the default values in BIOS. You may need to start the BIOS setup program when there are
hardware changes, such as upgrades, temporary conditions, or when you decide to customize the
hardware settings to meet your specific needs.
4.1 methods of using BIOS Setup.
You must perform BIOS settings in the following situations:
The boot test found a problem, and a message appears on the screen asking you to perform
the BIOS settings.
You want to restore the default value.
You need to change the settings for specific hardware.
You want to change the setting value to get the best system performance.
To perform the BIOS setting, press the Delete key when the laptop is turned on.
How to make a choice.
For a project, you must have two or three layers of options to complete the setup. Most of
these options must go through three layers of options: menu title, drop-down menu, and
submenu.
Use the keyboard to move and make choices. You can see the keyboard information at the
bottom right of the screen.
