WhatisWPA?
WPAorWi‐FiProtectedAccess,isaWi‐Fistandard,designedtoimprovethe
securityfeaturesofWEP(WiredEquivalentPrivacy).
ComparedwithWEP,WPAhastwomajorimprovements:
ImprovedataencryptionthroughtheTemporalKeyIntegrityProtocol
(TKIP).TKIPscramblesthekeysusingahashingalgorithmand,by
addingintegrity‐checkingfeature,ensuresthatthekeyshavenotbeen
tamperedwith.WPA2isbasedon802.11i,usingtheAdvanced
EncryptionStandard(AES)insteadofTKIP.
UserauthenticationthroughtheExtensibleAuthenticationProtocol(EAP), 
usuallymissinginWEP.WEP‐basedcomputerhardwareMACaddressto
restrictaccesstothewirelessnetworkisrelativelyeasylisteningandsteal.
EAPisbuiltonamoresecurepublickeyencryptionsystemtoensurethat
onlythroughauthorizednetworkuserscanaccessthenetwork.
WPA‐PSK/WPA2‐PSKusesapassphraseorkeytoauthenticateyourwireless
connection.Thekeyisanalphanumericpassword,8‐63characterslong.The
passwordcanincludesymbols(!?*&_)Andspaces.Thiskeymustbeenteredon
yourwirelessrouteroraccesspointthesamekey.
CompletethequickinstallationtheIPCAMERAguideinstallation,youcanuse
theIPaddresshasbeenassignedtheCamera.AlocalIPaddressforyourPCand
oneormoresharednetworkthrougharouter,soassignedtotheIPaddressof
thenetworkCamera.Atthistime,yourlocalnetworkcanseetheCamera,
configuretheroutertoallowtheCamerafromaremoteviewingcanbeviewed
onthenetwork.







