ComparedwithWEP,WPAhastwomajorimprovements:
ImprovedataencryptionthroughtheTemporalKeyIntegrityProtocol
(TKIP).TKIPscramblesthekeysusingahashingalgorithmand,byadding
integrity‐checkingfeature,ensuresthatthekeyshavenotbeentampered
with.WPA2isbasedon802.11i,usingtheAdvancedEncryptionStandard
(AES)insteadofTKIP.
UserauthenticationthroughtheExtensibleAuthenticationProtocol(EAP),
usuallymissinginWEP.WEP‐basedcomputerhardwareMACaddresstorestrict
accesstothewirelessnetworkisrelativelyeasy
listeningandsteal.EAPisbuilt
onamoresecurepublickeyencryptionsystemtoensurethatonlythrough
authorizednetworkuserscanaccessthenetwork.
WPA‐PSK/WPA2‐PSKusesapassphraseorkeytoauthenticateyourwireless
connection.Thekeyisanalphanumericpassword,8‐63characterslong.The
password
canincludesymbols(!?*&_)Andspaces.Thiskeymustbeenteredon
yourwirelessrouteroraccesspointthesamekey.

moresharednetworkthrougharouter,soassignedtotheIPaddressofthenetwork

allowtheCamerafromaremoteviewingcanbeviewedonthenetwork.
