Once the required zone is displayed (if you have multiple zones in your radio), turn the
programmed
ChannelSelectorKnobtoselectthechannel.
■ MakingaGroupCall
1.TurntheChannelSelectorKnobtoselectthechannelwiththeactivegroupaliasorID.
2.Holdtheradiovertically1to2inches(2.5to5.0cm)fromyourmouth.
3.PressthePTTbutton
tomakethecall.TheLEDlightsupsolidred.TheGroupCalliconappears.
Thefirsttextlineshowsthegroupcallalias.
4.WaitfortheTalkPermitTone tofinish(ifenabled)andspeakclearlyintothemicrophone.

WaitforthePTTSidetonetofinish(if
enabled)andspeakclearlyintothemicrophone.
5.ReleasethePTTbuttontolisten.Whenthetargetradioresponds,theLEDlightsupgreen.You
seetheGroupCallicon,thegroupaliasorID,andtransmittingradioaliasorIDonyourdisplay.
6.IftheChannelFreeIndicationfeature
isenabled,youwillhearashortalerttonethemoment
thetargetradioreleasesthePTTbutton,indicatingthechannelisfreefor youtorespond.Press
thePTTbuttontorespond.
