UpandTurningOfftheRadio
RotatetheOn/Off/VolumeControlKnobclockwiseuntilyouhearaclick.
TheLEDlightsupsolidorang eandtheHomescreenlightsupifthebacklightsettingissettoturn
onautomatically.
Toturnofftheradio,rotatethisknobcounterclockwiseuntilyouhear
aclick.
■ AdjustingtheVolume
Toincreasethevolume,turntheOn/OffVolumeContr olKnobclockwise.
Todecreasethevolume,turnthisknobcounterclockwise.
■SelectingaZone
Azoneisagroupofchannels.Usethefollowingproceduretoselectazone.
Thenon‐keypad radio supportsup
to32channelsand 2zones,withamaximumof16 channels
perzone.
1.PresstheprogrammedZonebutton.
2.Youhearapositiveindicatortone,indicatingtheradiohasswitchedfromZone1toZone2.
OR
Youhearanegativeindicatortone,indicatingtheradiohasswitchedfrom
Zone2toZone1.
■ SelectingaChannel
Once the required zone is displayed (if you have multiple zones in your radio), turn the
programmedChannelSelectorKnobtoselectthechannel.
■ MakingaGroupCall
1.TurntheChannelSelectorKnobtoselectthechannelwiththeactivegroupaliasorID.
2.Holdtheradiovertically1to2inches(2.5to5.0cm)fromyourmouth.
3.PressthePTTbuttontomakethecall.TheLEDlightsupsolidred.TheGroupCalliconappears.
Thefirsttextlineshowsthegroupcallalias.
4.WaitfortheTalkPermitTon e tofinish(ifenabled)andspeakclearlyintothemicrophone.

WaitforthePTTSidetonetofinish(ifenabled)andspeakclearlyintothemicrophone.
5.ReleasethePTTbuttontolisten.Whenthetargetradioresponds,theLEDlightsupgreen.You
seetheGroupCallicon,thegroupaliasorID,andtransmittingradioaliasorIDonyourdisplay.
6.IftheChannelFreeIndicationfeatureisenabled,youwillhearashortalerttonethemoment
thetargetradioreleasesthePTTbutton,indicatingthechannelisfreefor
youtorespond.Press
