LCDpanelwilldisplayinformationaboutyour
radio,andthepanelwillbeilluminatedbya
greenlightforseveralseconds.
Communication
Youcancommunicatetwowayswithyournew
GMRSradio.Thereare15channelsavailable
toyou,eachwith38interferenceelimination
codes(CTCSScodes).Youcaneithertalk
directlytoothersandheartheirresponse,or
youcancallorpagethemwithanaudibletone.
Inallcases,bothunitsmustbesettothe
samechannelsandCTCSScodes,ortheywill
notcommunicate.IftheCTCSScodefeature
isturnedoff,youwillhearalltransmissions
onthechannel(1-15)thatyouaretunedto.
TheGMRSradioscanonlycommunicate
wheneithertheTalkbutton(forspeech),or
theCallbutton(forpaging)ispressed.The
unitcanonlyreceivewhenbothbuttonsare
fullyreleased.
ReceivingCommunications
WhenyourGMRSunitisturnedONandisnot
beingusedtotransmitvoicecommunicationor
pages,itisalwaysinthelisteningmode.
Youcannotreceiveanytransmissionswhen
theorbuttonsarepressed,even
ifyouaren’tsayinganything.Pressingthese
buttonsautomaticallyoverridesandturnsoff
thereceivemode.
