Frequently Asked Questions About the Ionic Breeze® How often is cleaning required? At least every two weeks or anytime the Ionic Breeze makes an audible sound or the CLEANING INDICATOR lights. How should it be cleaned? Wipe the removable collection grid with a damp cloth, paper towel or sponge. It is very important that the collection grid be allowed to dry completely before returning it to the main housing.
Set-Up and Operation Place the Ionic Breeze GP at least twelve inches from the wall and in a location where children cannot stare directly into the unit at a close range. Plug into a grounded 110v outlet (read warnings for details). Switch the MODE CONTROL to the desired setting: ON - The unit will clean, and circulate the air but the germicidal lamp is not activated. Blue Glow coming from within the unit indicates that the germicidal lamp is operating.

Cleaning the Collection Grid Cleaning the grid every one or two weeks. As a reminder, the cleaning indicator light will turn amber after two weeks. If the cleaning indicator light turns red, the unit has shut down because of excessive dirt or circuitry problems. In most cases a thorough cleaning will return the unit to normal operation. Unplug the unit before cleaning. Remove the collection grid by pulling it from the top of the unit.
Thorough Cleaning If the unit makes noise during operation, a thorough cleaning of the grid and ionizing wires may be required. Remove the collection grid by pulling it from the top of the unit. Wash the grid with warm soapy water, rinse, and allow to dry for 24 hours before returning to unit. Use a compressed gas dusting product to remove any accumulated particles from the ionizing wires and to blow out any dust that is settled in the base of the unit.
Additional Information The exterior of the unit can be cleaned using a cloth or sponge and a solution of one part household bleach to five parts water or any bleach based spray cleaner. Allow the surface to dry completely before plugging it back into an outlet. The unit will not function while the collection grid is removed and/or the germicidal lamp cover is removed. The Ionic Breeze has been independently tested and found to comply with U.S.
Germicidal Lamp Replacement Lamps are effective for about 12 months of continuous use. Replace earlier if there is no “blue glow” inside the housing, when the unit is running in G.P. mode. Oil from fingers will reduce the germicidal performance of the U.V. lamp. DO NOT allow fingers to come in contact with the glass. Use gloves or handle only by the metal area of the lamp.
