The XH-A1s and XH-G1s encapsulate a wealth of
features in a compact, 3-CCD camcorder that
captures 1080i HD video at frame rates of 60i, 30p
and 24p. Genuine Canon L-series 20x wide-angle
(32.5-650mm equivalent) HD zoom ensures
outstanding resolution and color reproduction.
Behind the lens are three 1/3” 16:9 1440 x 1080
CCDs delivering superior picture quality and wide
dynamic range with virtually no color noise. Other
features include an analog-digital converter, built-in
XLR inputs with external leveling, a 2.8” widescreen LCD
(207K pixels), and two built-in ND filters. Otherwise the same, the XH-G1s steps up with the
Professional Jack Pack which offers HD-SDI and SD-SDI output, Genlock input and SMPTE timecode
input/output, for multi-camera shoots.
• Whether shooting handheld, from a moving car, or on a swaying bridge, Canon’s super-range OIS
combines gyro- and image sensors to keep your picture steady.
• DIGIC DV II technology processes the HDV signal with 4:2:2 color sampling, ensuring optimal color
reproduction in skin tones and in high-contrast scenes. For more precise image control there are 7
Program AE modes and nine custom presets, to adjust hue, gain, sharpness, setup level, and Cine
gamma settings. Then save the settings on an SD memory card for future use.
• Instant AF uses two sensors to provide fast and accurate focus, even in low light.
• Audio capabilities include two-channel audio performance; two built-in XLR terminals with separate
audio-input sensitivity settings; the ability to simultaneously record sound from the supplied internal
microphone and an external microphone; line output level switching; an audio (manual) limiter and a
new metal headphone jack for reliable connectivity. The result is better overall flexibility and control of
the camera by enabling the use of one cameraman to do the job of many.

The XF100 and XF105 feature 50Mbps MPEG-2 4:2:2
recording of 1920 x 1080 HD video onto Compact
Flash (CF) cards for unsurpassed image quality and
efficient workflow at an affordable price. Ideal for
documentary and independent filmmaking and
event videography, they utilize file-based MPEG-2
compression with an MXF File Wrapper to ensure
full compatibility with existing industry infrastructure,
metadata and non-linear editing systems. They are
equipped with Canon 10x (30.4- 304mm equivalent) HD lens; enable the easy set-up and capture of
high-definition 3-D video when two XF100 or XF105’s are paired; and have built-in infrared low-light
enabling the capture of HD video in complete darkness. Otherwise the same, XF105 adds HD-SDI

The XF300 and XF305 step up with three 1920 x 1080
CMOS sensors which deliver outstanding Full HD
video recording with minimal noise. They also feature
Genuine Canon 18x HD L-series lens which has a
focal length of 29.3-527.4mm (35mm equivalent)
and a Full Manual Focus mode with mechanical
“hard” end stops and distance markers for professional
operability and repeatable manual focus. HI-UD (high-index,
ultra low dispersion), UD and aspherical lens elements minimize chromatic aberrations and provide a
compact size and weight to the lens – while also delivering a resolution of 1000 TV lines. The lens also
features a SuperRange Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS) system featuring Dynamic and Powered modes
for optimal performance in the greatest variety of situations. Otherwise the same, XF305 adds HD-SDI

• 4:2:2 color sampling pr provides ultra-fine transitions in tone and color and maintains the highest
quality image for use in post production processes such as chroma keying, color grading, advanced
compositing and effects.
• In addition to rugged, solid-state construction and the speed and ease of file transfer to computers,
CF cards are cost effective and widely available. They feature hot-swappable dual card slots and
support UDMA CF cards for maximum performance.

• The LCD monitor also provides a display of the built-in waveform monitor and (XF300, XF305 add a

LCD can show peaking, edge-monitor-focus and magnify the image, enabling users to confirm critical
focus, an essential objective in all HD production. They also come equipped with 0.24”, 260,000-dot
(XF100/300) and 0.52” 1.55-megapixel color electronic viewfinder (XF300/305), providing ample
resolution for critical focus and 100% field-of-view coverage for accurate judgment of composition.
• For audio, they feature a built-in stereo mic as well as dual XLR inputs for external audio sources.
They support 16-bit PCM audio at 48 kHz with automatic and manual audio level adjustment.
