AG-HPX170 1/3” 3-CCD P2 HD Handheld Camcorder
The AG-HPX170 is a solid-state P2 HD handheld
camcorder equipped with three 1/3” 16:9 CCDs,
high-performance digital signal processor with 14-bit
A/D conversion and 19-bit processing to assure
high-quality recordings necessary for top-level pro-
duction and broadcast. Weighing only 4.2 lbs, the
camcorder has a 13x Leica Dicomar zoom lens with
a 28mm wide-angle setting (the widest in its class)
and a cam-driven manual zoom for smooth, easy
and precise operation. For added flexibility, the camera provides auto or manual focus and iris.
• Fully solid-state, the HPX170 has no moving parts, features fast IT compatible file-based workflow;
and is resistant to temperature extremes, shock and vibration.

Two P2 card slots let you record up to 128 minutes of the highest quality DVCPRO HD recording using
64GB P2 cards. Other user-friendly recording modes include hot swapping for non-stop recording,
loop record, pre-record, interval and one-shot recording. A time/date stamp function makes it ideal
for use in law enforcement environments.
• 20-step frame rate selection in 720p mode for variable-speed shooting in the 12 fps to 60fps range
to acquire fast- or slow-motion in-camera effects.
• For added creative flexibility, offers a variety of advanced gamma functions and settings including a
CineGamma mode.
• HD/SD-SDI output for live feed, editing and monitoring. Also has IEEE1394 and USB 2.0 interfaces.
• Records in 20 HD and SD formats (1080i and 720p formats in DVCPRO HD, as well as 480i in
DVCPRO50, DVCPRO and DV) and is switchable between
1 6:9/4:3 aspect ratios.
• Convenient features include clip preview on the camera’s 3.5” color LCD monitor; instant recording

of P2 solid-state recording. An incredibly
flexible, full production-quality camera,
it can record pristine high-quality
images in over 30 HD and SD formats
ranging from 1080p, 1080i, 720p,
480p, 480i and 576i. With the AVC-Intra
codec option board (AJ-YBX200G), the AJ-HPX2000
can deliver 10-bit, 4:2:2 master-quality video for outstanding video production and news acquisition.
Extensive signal connectivity and control capability includes IEEE1394 (AVC) and USB 2.0 interfaces,
HD/SD-SDI, genlock, SMPTE time code and composite video. A 10-pin RCU terminal connects the
