Setting the Shutter Speed
Available modes: TAPE-CAMERA, DUAL-
CAMERA, CARD-CAMERA
The shutter speed of the camcorder is preset to
auto mode, which automatically chooses the
optimal shutter speed for the ambient light.
However, depending on the subject or
situation, you may want to set the shutter
speed manually to create a high-quality
picture.

4 Touch [MANUAL] to display the
SHUT.SPEED adjustment screen.
1 Set the camcorder to TAPE-CAMERA,
DUAL-CAMERA, or CARD-CAMERA
mode.
2 In Recording Standby mode, set the
Manual Selection switch to MANUAL to
display the MANUAL screen.

Tips on using the manual shutter speed
Fast shutter speeds can be used with the still
recording functions (see pages 40 to 42 and
87) to record higher quality still images of
fast-moving subjects.
If the on-screen picture flickers when
recording under fluorescent lighting, you may
be able to compensate by setting the shutter
speed to 1/120 sec.
3 Touch [SHUT.SPEED] to display the
SHUT.SPEED selection screen.
Note: To cancel setting the manual shutter
speed, touch [RETURN] on the SHUT.SPEED
selection screen.
