Manual Exposure
Available modes: TAPE-CAMERA, DUAL-
CAMERA, CARD-CAMERA
The camcorder is preset to Auto Exposure
mode, which automatically chooses the optimal
aperture. When there is too much contrast in
brightness between the subject and back-
ground, however, you may not be able to
record a clear image. In this case, use the
manual exposure function to adjust the
exposure level (F-number) and correct the
aperture.
Example of use
• Background is too bright and subject too dark
(backlit subject).
—Select a smaller F-number (to allow more
light through the lens).
• Subject is too bright against background.
—Select a larger F-number (to allow less light
through the lens).
1 Set the camcorder to TAPE-CAMERA,
DUAL-CAMERA, or CARD-CAMERA
mode.
2 In Recording Standby mode, set the
Manual Selection switch to MANUAL to
display the MANUAL screen.
