Playback Zoom
Available modes: TAPE-VCR, CARD-VCR
The playback zoom function allows you to
magnify the playback picture up to 10 times its
original size.

Note: When the playback zoom indicator is
displayed in yellow, you can zoom in on or
out from the magnified image by pressing the
Power Zoom buttons.
To cancel Playback Zoom mode
Touch [CANCEL]. The playback zoom screen
turns off.
3 Touch the portion of the picture you want
to zoom in.
• The playback zoom indicator changes to
yellow, and the picture is magnified
centring on the area you touched.
• Each time you touch the screen, the
picture switches between the magnified
and normal images.
2 Touch [PB ZOOM] to display the
playback zoom screen.
Using Playback Zoom
1 During playback (or still playback) in
TAPE-VCR or CARD-VCR mode,
display the [2/3] (in TAPE-VCR mode) or
[1/2] (in CARD-VCR mode) screen (see
page 30).
Notes:
• The Power Zoom/VOL. buttons on the
camcorder cannot be used to adjust the
volume when the playback zoom indicator is
displayed in yellow. Use the VOL. buttons on
the infrared remote control instead.
• Use of Playback Zoom may cause a reduction in
picture quality for still images.
• Images in Playback Zoom mode cannot be
transferred to a computer.
Selecting the Zoom Magnification
1 In TAPE-VCR or CARD-VCR mode,
display the menu screen (see page 31).
2 Touch [K] or [L] to select “ I ” (in
TAPE-VCR mode) or “O” (in CARD-
VCR mode), and then touch [SET].
Touch [K] or [L] to select “PB ZOOM”,
and then touch [SET].
